BUD/S (Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL) has often been used synonymously for the Naval Special Warfare Center. The proving ground for a Navy SEAL (SEa, Air and Land), the "Center" conjures the image of sand covered men hoisting inflatable boats overhead or straining through sit-ups with a log on their chest.
