The U.S. dock landing ship USS Oak Hill (LSD 51) was honored to host the U.S. Ambassador to France, the Honorable Craig Roberts Stapleton, while making a port call in Toulon, France. Ambassador Stapleton was also joined by French Admiral Xavier Magne, Commander, French Maritime Forces, CAPT Michael A. Durnan, the U.S. Naval Attache to Paris, and CDR Dominic Gaudin, USN, the NATO Liaison Officer.
The visit included a tour of the Oak Hill and five star gourmet lunch prepared by the ship's culinary specialist and "Chef at Sea" Gloria Cabral for a few members of the Oak Hill's Ward Room. Ambassador Stapleton spent time talking with the Sailors of Oak Hill and the ...
