Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Pearl Harbor has implemented an extensive reorganization within its Logistics Support Center (LSC). The restructuring will save more than $319,000 (Type I and II savings) in fiscal year 2008 without adversely affecting customer service.
The idea to reorganize the LSC stemmed from a Lean Six Sigma project, which examined FISC Pearl Harbor's Bearer Walk-Thru function. As a result of the study, the Walk-Thru function was transferred from FISC Pearl Harbor to the Defense Distribution Depot Hawaii (DDPH).
