While enjoying their first port visit in 6th Fleet for the 2008 Surge Deployment, USS Oak Hill (LSD 51) hosted some distinguished visitors from Palma, Spain.
The event commenced with a trip from pier side to meet "Silver Surfer" which was anchored during the port visit. Commanding Officer Heidi C. Agle hosted Ramon Socias, Delegate for the Spanish National Government in the Balearic Islands (who was honored with four side boys); Ramon Morey Aguirre, General Secretary of Civil Delegate; Amy Christiansen, U.S. Consular Agent Balearic Islands; Tumi Bestard, former U.S. Consular Agent, Balearic Islands; and a host of other local ...
