Sailors of Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS John S. McCain (DDG 56) provided needed personnel, repair parts, food stores, and mail to operationally deployed and tasked USS Lassen (DDG 82) the morning of March 15.
At sunrise, the two warships met up in the Yellow Sea and commenced vertical replenishment at sea (VERTREP). The Lassen Helicopter Detachment (HSL 51) provided a team of pilots and aircrew to move the goods.
