China launches nutritional supplement program for children
Shanghai. March 24. INTERFAX-CHINA - The Ministry of Health (MoH) has launched a nutritional supplement program for children that will last from 2009 to 2011, it announced on March 24.
According to the announcement, the program will be launched jointly with leading U.S.-based food company H.J. Heinz Co. and will enable multivitamins and minerals to be distributed free-of-charge to 530,000 children, aged between six months and 36 months, residing in 13 designated counties in the Inner Mongolia and Guangxi Zhuang autonomous regions, and Qinghai and Guizhou provinces.
