LEZO, Aklan, March 23 (PNA) -- The Aklan Electric Cooperative, Inc. (AKELCO) urged its member-consumers to help reduce the coop's generation cost by utilizing the Time of Use (TOU) Scheme.

Area General Manager for Engineering Ricardo I. Ileto said the National Power Corp. charged the cooperative a generation cost at a TOU rate of P5.6379 per kilowatt-hour (KwH) from 6 pm until 9 pm, the "peak hours."

The lowest rate of P1.7782 per KwH was recorded from 1 am to 7 am.

The TOU rate scheme applies when electricity consumption is less demanded.
