Remember Murray on the ``Mary Tyler Moore Show''? When he needed extra money and Lou wouldn't give him a raise, he took a night job teaching at a local college. No big deal, except second jobs were strictly against company policy at WGM.
When Murray turned up for work each day exhausted and tense, the audience understood the reason for the policy. When the two jobs collided (hilariously on the show, of course), we learned the dangers of trying to do too much.
Oh for those simple days. It's been ages since I've heard of a company with a no-moonlighting policy. In fact, it seems that some companies today rely on a worker's second income to justify ...
