PHILADELPHIA, July 30 /PRNewswire/ -- CIGNA Corporation (NYSE: CI) today reported second quarter 1997 operating income(A) of $270 million, or $3.61 per share, versus $252 million, or $3.28 per share, reported in the second quarter of 1996. For the first half of 1997, operating income was $530 million or $7.10 per share, versus $471 million, or $6.13 per share, for 1996.
