Japanese brewer Sapporo said Tuesday it is teaming up with two Brazilian companies oil giant Petrobras and renewable energy firm Ergostech on a project to extract hydrogen from biomass residues for energy use.
According to a statement by Sapporo, the initiative is the first-ever attempt to remove hydrogen from biomass residues using a pilot extraction plant measuring just one cubic meter in volume.
The goal is to further reduce the cost of producing hydrogen, regarded by many as the green fuel of the future.
