When it comes to making money at Alliance Bank Stadium, the Syracuse Chiefs' baseball team has been striking out.
But it appears the Dave Matthews Band and other musical acts could provide the hits that generate money at the county-owned stadium.
Onondaga County taxpayers and the Chiefs have a revenue-sharing plan. If the team makes money, some of it goes to the county to alleviate taxpayers' expenses for the stadium. That's happened only once since the stadium opened in 1997.
Concerts are big moneymakers, according to officials from minor-league teams that have hosted similar shows in recent years. So ...
