Women of all ages are invited to the Indian River Library on Saturday for tea, cookies - and to show off their hats. But the free program, "Ladies in Hats at a Tea Party with Bennie Marshall," is deadly serious.
The event will feature candid discussions from Marshall, head of the nursing program at Norfolk State University, and testimonies from three survivors about "The Silent Killers," stroke and heart disease.
"The (warning) signs are different for women then they are for men," said Brenda Cobb, community liaison with Odyssey Health Care, one of the sponsors.
