It was just their seventh gig. They had no record deal. They were not actually listed on the program for the concert. Although they performed second to last, they only sang for about 40 minutes. The outdoor venue was muddy. The check they were going to get was not a lot of money - $350, to be divided among the group's 12 performers. Then the check bounced.
However, "That was the best bounced check," said Jocko Marcellino.
