SHREWSBURY - In the growing world of Central Mass. lacrosse, St. John's seniors Colin O'Rourke and Alex Papoojian are true Pioneers.
The two are the first area players to sign National Letters of Intent to become scholarship players for Division 1 programs, as O'Rourke will suit up for Wagner College next spring while Papoojian will play at Virginia Military Institute. While Central Mass. has sent plenty of lacrosse players to places like Union College, which has former Pioneer Chris Jacobson and Westboro's Phil Mendes and Rob Lord on its roster, O'Rourke and Papoojian are the first to reach these heights.
