THE family of a Teesside grandmother who suffered a shameful catalogue of neglect in her final months is still waiting for answers a year after her death.
Grace Allenby, 88, of Thornaby, was moved from a residential home in Middlesbrough to a nursing home just two days before she died, but staff were so horrified by the state she was in when she arrived they called adult protection. An inquest into Mrs Allenby's death heard evidence that she was:
Denied the nursing care she needed for six months;
