In the 68th All-Star Game at Jacobs Field in Cleveland, the American League broke a three-game losing streak with a 3-1 victory over the National League team, which included perennial All-Stars Barry Bonds of the San Francisco Giants, Barry Larkin of the Cincinnati Reds and the San Diego Padres Tony Gwynn, who is on a pace to become the first player to finish the season with a .400 batting average since Ted Williams did it in 1941.
