Intelsat Ltd., the world's leading provider of fixed satellite services, announced that Detecon Al Saudia Co. Ltd. (DETASAD) signed a multi-year contract for Ku-band capacity on IntelsatEs new satellite, IS-15 which will be located at 85*E when it is launched later this year.

DETASAD, a German-Saudi Arabian joint venture telecommunications and IT company, will use this capacity to provide additional Very Small Aperture (VSAT) transmission services to its small and medium enterprise, government and maritime customers throughout the Middle East.
