Aug. 7--UPS and Teamster negotiators prepared to return to the bargaining table today while harried retailers, small business owners and individuals scrambled to push their packages through an overburdened U.S. delivery network.
UPS, the largest U.S. transportation company with 12 million daily shipments, essentially has been closed since Monday when Teamsters went on strike. Workers are seeking increases in wages, job security and nembers of full-time jobs.
