JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Aug. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Physician Sales & Service, Inc. (Nasdaq: PSSI) and its subsidiary Diagnostic Imaging, Inc. ("DI") of Jacksonville, Florida acquired S&W X-Ray, Inc. ("S&W") of Rochester, New York. S&W distributes radiology and imaging equipment, chemicals and supplies, and provides technical service to the acute and alternate site markets through 5 locations in 4 states in the Northern region. S&W reported $73 million in revenues for the latest twelve month period ending March 31, 1997.
The merger will be accounted for as a pooling of interests and is subject to certain closing conditions and S&W shareholder approval.
