The Chevy Lumina is a great, practical sedan. Take two doors off and what do you get? A sexy, sleek coupe called the Monte Carlo. Both are built on GM's W-Car platform, and both offer the same V6 engines and 4-speed automatic transaxles, disc/drum brakes and all-independent suspension systems.
According to our survey, the big item that Monte Carlo and Lumina do not share is sex appeal. The Monte Carlo's swoopy lines definitely raise more eyebrows than the more sedately styled Lumina.
