WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--Aug. 13--The marriage of Maxis Inc. and Electronic Arts Inc. may well pay dividends in the future, but for the moment, the merger is being jolted by some business bumps.
A new SimCity title being developed at the Maxis studios in the East Bay has run into a delay. Plus, Electronic Arts has begun the layoffs of some Maxis employees in Walnut Creek, Pat Becker, a spokeswoman for San Mateo-based Electronic Arts, said Tuesday.
