ATLANTA--Aug. 13--Minute Maid Co. plans to roll out smaller juice boxes, patented juice pouches, a new distribution system aimed at convenience stores and other retailers where consumers buy single servings, and more aggressive frozen juice marketing in 1998.
The moves are designed to continue a turnaround at Coca-Cola Co.'s Houston-based juice division, long considered a laggard at the world's largest soft drink company and No. 2 in the orange juice business to Seagram Co.'s Tropicana. Minute Maid is apparently now off the selling block. Many Wall Street experts predicted such a move earlier this decade.
