First Combination Test to Detect Both HTLV-I and HTLV-II 

ABBOTT PARK, Ill., Aug. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Abbott Laboratories (NYSE: ABT) announced today that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has licensed for marketing the first blood screening test for detection of antibodies to both Human T-Lymphotropic Virus Types I and II (HTLV-I/HTLV-II). Abbott already markets a test for HTLV-I alone.
