Pyridine compounds are mainly used to produce the herbicides paraquat and diquat, nicotinic acid and nicotinic amide, as well as pharmaceutical and pesticide intermediates. They have extensive applications and their in-depth processing has a bright prospect. They are therefore among the fine chemicals imperative for development in China.
Rapid capacity expansion
Pyridine compounds and downstream products have developed rapidly in China in recent years. The output reached 19 300 tons in 2007, an increase of 36.9% over 2006.
