Winning entries to the 2009 FPA Flexible Packaging Awards competition were announced Feb. 25 at the 2009 FPA Annual Meeting (Feb. 25-27) at the Ritz Carlton Golf Resort in Naples, Fla. This year's competition received 79 distinct flexible packages, representing a total of 113 entries (since several packages were entered in more than one category). Of these entries, 24 packages were honored with Acheivement Awards.
Among this year's solutions are a creative vacuum skin package, a unique opening feature, new coextruded film technology, combination gloss and matte printing, vacuum spot metallization and innovations in laminating/coating materials/methods.
