It happens every spring.
The snow melts, the mornings feel a bit warmer, the geese fill the skies as they migrate north -- and I start looking longingly at every trout stream I drive by.
Wednesday marks the opening of trout fishing season. If you haven't done so already, today is a good day to check out your rod and reel and other equipment to make sure everything is in working order. Nothing's worse than stepping into a cold, Central New York stream on opening day and discovering your boots leak.
