ATLANTA--Aug. 21--A little patience. That's what United Parcel Service customers waiting for the big brown trucks will need.
UPS drivers Wednesday resumed picking up and delivering packages for the first time in more than two weeks, but the company said "the precise time for pickups and deliveries may fluctuate" for the next few days until regular schedules can be met, probably by the first of next week.
UPS is faced with processing about 8 million packages that had gone undelivered since the Teamsters' strike began Aug. 4, and picking up thousands more that customers are waiting to ship.
