COBURG - Barring a last-minute reversal of fortune, Monaco Coach Corp.'s 41-year run may be coming to an end.
Long one of the region's major employers, the RV manufacturer announced Monday it was terminating about 2,000 employees, most of whom have been furloughed without pay since mid-December, and warned it would be forced to close for good unless it is able to find a buyer or obtain new funding.
About 145 workers remain on the job, involved in sales, finance, accounting and management of the company, spokesman Craig Wanichek said. Monaco's management is continuing its effort to obtain new financing or ...
