Hopes of private firms investing in CF unit are dashed
HOPES that private developers might be interested in building a long-awaited unit for cystic fibrosis (CF) patients in St Vincent's Hospital in Dublin were dashed last night after it was confirmed no proposals for outside investment have been made.
A spokesman for the Health Service Executive (HSE) said it had not received any appropriate private development proposals for the St Vincent's site, where construction of a CF unit which was due to open in 2010 will not now begin until at least 2011. A spokesman for St Vincent's Hospital also confirmed it had not been approached by any specific developer ...
