BEIJING, April 3 Asia Pulse - China has set rather strict qualifications on small and midsize insurers who directly invest in the stock market, in an effort to limit risks.

According to regulations issued by China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC), insurance companies can submit their application for direct stock market investment to CIRC for recordkeeping. Previously, these companies would be required to wait for CIRC approval.

Experts held that these regulations will help competitive small- and midsize-insurers expand their investment channels.
