Aug. 27--The downtown Doubletree Hotel opens its new restaurant, Jacob's on the Plaza, the week of Sept. 8. The space that formerly housed Fat Tuesday's has been redone and includes a bar.
Jacob's will offer contemporary Southern dishes, grilled foods and pasta dishes. Doubletree General Manager John Denson said, "If you see our lobster flag flying, you know we've got lobster that night."
Phipps Limited Partnership has submitted a pre-application to Leon County to develop 292,000 square feet of commercial space on the east side of Thomasville Road near the intersection of Velda Woods Drive.
