Summary: JEDDAH u Saudi Arabia is offering a new incentive to private firms to employ Saudis, after estimates showed that the unemployment rate in the country would be between 9.8 per cent to 10 per cent.

Hisham Lingawi, director of the Makkah branch of the Human Resources Development Fund, known as HRDF, said that the incentive would encourage private companies to train and employ more Saudi citizens.

He explained that HRDF would pay private companies in advance half of the first annual salary of newly hired Saudis, instead of after the completion of the first year.
