FREEHOLD, N.J.--Aug. 29--Several hundred unionized building trades workers Thursday picketed Roy Kay Inc., a manufacturing company on Center Street.
The protesters, from the Sheet Metal Workers International Association, gathered in the Market Yard parking lot, which is behind the company's building. Some of the union members used bullhorns to lead chants against Roy Kay.
The protesters claim the company does not hire union workers and pays workers less than skilled union employees who do comparable jobs.
Roy Kay company officials could not be reached for comment.
