Sep. 3--Paul Harris Stores Inc. announced Tuesday plans to nearly double the number of stores it will add to its roster this year.
The move is prompted by strong sales, a rosy economy and a chance to snatch up real estate deals.
"Why not?," said Charlotte Fischer, president, chairman and chief executive officer of the women's clothing chain. "The business continues to be very strong and the new stores continue to perform very well."
Expansion has been part of the plan for a while, but with the strong sales "we decided to step up the pace," Fischer said.
