AS an ever greater number of traditions fall by the wayside, one is still going strong in Wales - the eating of fish on Good Friday.
Extra orders are being placed and more fish being caught at sea, in preparation of a tradition that dates to the ninth century.
The tradition stems from the Roman Catholic custom to not eat warm-blooded animals on Fridays, to acknowledge and do penance for the death of Jesus.
Tradition led this to become a rule for Good Fridays, and fish was the common meal of choice.
