Whenever I think of George Burnham, I can't help hearing in my head the sound of "ping, ping, ping!" Before I explain the "pinging," however, let's look back at the life of George Burnham, another of those fixtures on the California mineral scene in the early days. It was really a special time for collectors--the camaraderie was at an all-time high, which led to great meetings and field trips.
