Taylor: What experience does one need to make a good chief operational risk officer?

Valine: A number of things are important. A broad background, one in which you have been exposed to multiple businesses and disciplines such as finance, compliance, and technology, is helpful. Experience in or having exposure to several lines of business, such as commercial, wholesale, or consumer, prepares someone for success in this job.
