For the production of diesel magnet valves or solenoids, used in several diesel injectors for heavy goods vehicles and yachts, Bosch of Kassel, Germany, and Huntsman of Basel, Switzerland, have worked together to develop a single component, mineral filled epoxy, which is said to be able to meet the specific mechanical and environmental demands placed on these components.
Head of Manufacturing at Bosch GmbH, Diesel Systems, Jens Rapp, explained: "We needed a system with good flow to ensure even impregnation around the valve and good sealing properties. Critically, it also had to have excellent chemical resistance to hot diesel oil to cope with the environmental ...
