Belarus-Venezuela joint venture Petrolera BeloVenesolana plans to increase oil output in Venezuela by almost 60% in 2009 to 1.1 million tons (22,000 b/d), according to an official at state firm Belarusneft. The increase will come from three new oil fields.
Petrolera BeloVenesolana is currently working in Venezuela's Guara Este field in the east and Lago Medio field in the west, where Belarusneft owns a total of 100 producing wells. It produced almost 14,000 b/d last year, and had said earlier that output should subsequently rise to almost 40,000 b/d in 2010 after the three fields are added to its portfolio.
