ORGANISERS hailed this year's Chester Food and Drink Festival as the "biggest and best" by organisers.
The fine weather brought record numbers to the event's new home at Chester Racecourse.
Organisers estimate up to 20,000 people attended over the course of the threeday festival, now in its eighth year.
As at every previous festival, Wirral-born TV chef Simon Rimmer was present yesterday to prepare some mouth-watering dishes.
He said: "The crowd is always up for a laugh and I really enjoy appearing at Chester.
"My role is to cook simple, tasty food and make it appear easy, to get people to give it a go in their kitchens.
