The Gas Research Institute (GRI) has decided to back down from a confrontation with the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA) and others in the natural gas industry and will support INGAA's version of a settlement.
In a short, somewhat cryptic announcement, GRI said Thursday that it will file comments with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) on Monday in which it will support the INGAA proposal.
GRI also said it will recommend against having a settlement judge look at the agreement, a proposal supported by several gas industry companies.
