Richard Lariviere revealed several things with a single observation during his visit to the University of Oregon this week. The sole candidate for the UO presidency said higher education in Oregon is in a position of relative strength, because public financial support already has been withdrawn to such an extent that further cuts won't be as traumatic as in other states.
