Semifinalists from 33 States and Seven Countries Are One Step Closer to Landing a Publishing Contract with Penguin Group (USA)
SEATTLE & NEW YORK -- Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) and Penguin Group (USA) (NYSE: PSO) today revealed the 100 semifinalists in the second-annual Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award, the international writing competition in search of the next popular novel. Penguin editors are now evaluating the manuscripts from this group of 100 semifinalists and will choose three finalists, to be announced on May 15, 2009. Amazon customers will then select the Grand Prize winner from these three finalists.
