Sep. 25--US West has a three-year $20 million noncompete agreement with the company buying its local cable business, a pact that some say could thwart competition between the Twin Cities' dominant cable and phone companies.
The noncompete pledge alarms some local cable overseers and an attorney reviewing the cable system sale for 56 local communities.
