MORE than 3000 people wept in Scotland's oil capital yesterday for the 16 "heroes" who lost their lives in the worst offshore disaster since Piper Alpha.
A thousand mourners, led by Prince Charles, wife Camilla, Prime Minister Gordon Brown and First Minister Alex Salmond, packed Aberdeen's Kirk of St Nicholas for a memorial service to the men who died in the April 1 helicopter disaster.
More than 400 relatives of the victims were at the service.
