BALTIMORE, Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Mid-Atlantic Carrier Acquisition Company (MCAC) today signed a five-year contract with Lockheed Martin IMS (LMI) to develop the telephone number database in the Mid-Atlantic region for local number portability.
Local number portability allows customers to retain their existing telephone number when they switch their local telephone service to a new company and removes a major roadblock for competition in local telephone service.
The master contract, signed by MCAC and LMI, defines the conditions under which LMI will provide service. Each local service provider must sign a user agreement or interim billing ...
