RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Men and women who suffer from the discomfort and disruption caused by recurrent genital herpes outbreaks now have a once-a-day treatment option for suppressing these outbreaks.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today cleared Valtrex(R) (valacyclovir HCl) Caplets for use as a once daily therapy for the suppression of genital herpes. Valtrex has been shown in clinical trials of otherwise healthy adults to have a significant effect in suppressing outbreaks compared to placebo.
