Sep. 27--Port of Kennewick officials say they followed the letter of the law when they voted last fall for a port tax to develop the Columbia River shoreline.
For that reason and others, the port this week asked a Benton County Superior Court judge to throw out the lawsuit of a Kennewick businessman who says the tax should have gone to a public vote. The documents were filed this week, but no hearing is set.
