When the Getty Center opens its doors in Los Angeles later this year, millions of visitors will see the campus, views, and art museum. What they won't see are the many challenges the institution's telecommunications planners faced in equipping the facility with technology sophisticated enough to service the campus in the next millennium.
Upon completion, the $1 billion Getty Center will include six buildings which house the J. Paul Getty Museum, the Research Institute for the History of Art and the Humanities, the Getty Conservation Institute, the Getty Education Institute for the Arts, the Getty Information Institute, and the Getty Grant Program.
