DENVER - Fox Sports Rocky Mountain last week inked a seven-year, $100 million license agreement with Ascent Entertainment Group, setting the stage for future transactions.
Under the deal, FSR - a joint venture between Liberty Media Corp., the programming arm of Tele-Communications Inc., and News Corp. - gets the cable rights to the NBA Denver Nuggets and the former Stanley Cup champions, Colorado Avalanche.
FSR will now offer 65 regular season games for each team, as well as all playoff games, to 2.7 million cable and satellite viewers in nine Rocky Mountain states, beginning in the 1997-98 season.
